This figure will cost you $99.99 and has die-cast metal parts but comes with some issues. Keep reading to find out more!

PACKAGING

Picture
The front of the packaging for MPM-4 is your average Takara packaging with the addition of "Hasbro" written in the corner. I was having some issues with my camera so these pictures did come out a bit washed out I apologize for that.
Picture
The back of the packaging shows us Optimus Prime in a cool battle pose that you will most likely never get him to pose it on your own. We also get to see some of his included accessories, he comes with the movie Matrix of Leadership in his chest (and yes it's removeable), he has a changeable face piece that takes about his mouth plate, 2 Energon Blades and his Blaster are also included. The back of the box is written in English since this is for Hasbro.
Picture
MPM-4 comes strapped into his plastic shell with rope ties and Hasbro's favorite plastic straps. He is easy to remove and already comes in Robot Mode. (I am guessing this is because nobody at Hasbro or Takara could figure out how to Transform him...I will touch on this later in the review)

ROBOT MODE

This figure is really detailed, the design is near perfect and the articulation is great. That being said, it will make a great displace piece in Robot Mode and it's worth the cost if that is all you want to do with it.

TRANSFORMATION

GOOD LUCK! If you have ever purchased a Takara MP figure you know that the instructions are usually very clear pictures on a glossy paper with some writing in Japanese (which can be translated with Google Translate fairly easily if you get stuck). Hasbro inserted their typical paper instructions, this one being 43 steps of confusion with a gray image showing moving parts in red, not only do I always hate their instruction system on their cheaper figures, but it does not work on a complicated figure such as an MP at all! They didn't even bother adding words to help you along the way! The Transformation process is complicated and I actually had to give up about half way through it because I couldn't follow what needed to be done. Besides that stress, I barely moved part of his foot and snapped off a toe? I am guessing its a toe... I am going to have to fix it with some model glue. The frustration caused by these instructions are really ridiculous and could be avoided if Hasbro would just get on the same page as Takara and make more detailed instructions for their harder figures instead of using this cheap half assed system they are using now.

FINAL THOUGHTS

THE GOOD

THE BAD

 • Great Price Point for a MP Figure
 • Very Detailed & Accurate
 • Includes Accessories
 • Impossible to Transform
 • Pieces Can Break Easily
 • Instructions are Difficult to Understand
Overall satisfaction with Takara MPM-4 started out high, out of the box the figure looks amazing and is movie accurate. However once you start to manipulate the figure and Transform him into Vehicle Mode the satisfaction quickly fades into frustration because of Hasbro cheaping out on the instructions. The figure is fragile and can break easily which is also brings it down very quickly. If you are looking to just display this figure on a shelf and never Transform it, then it is definitely a good purchase for the price.
These are the reasons I am giving Takara MPM-4 Movie Optimus Prime...

ROBOT MODE

The Robot Mode for Kup was done very well, Hasbro did a great job with the color set and the overall design. My only complaint is that the head design could have been a bit more accurate.

VEHICLE MODE

Transformers Kup from Robot Mode to Vehicle Mode is fairly easy and he looks great once Transformed. There is an area to put his weapons and a seat for Flintlock to sit.

FLINTLOCK

I have the same issue with the Titan Masters every time I do a review of this line, the details are just lacking and a bit more effort in the paint would make a huge difference. I am beginning to think Hasbro doesn't read my reviews since they haven't made the change yet.

FINAL THOUGHTS

THE GOOD

THE BAD

 • Great Color Selection
 • Mostly Kept True to Original G1 Style
 • Decent Price Point
 • Easy Transformation
 • Weapon Storage in Both Modes
 • Titan Master Paint Detail is Lacking
Titans Return Sergeant Kup & Flintlock are certainly worth picking up if you see them on the shelf, it gives us a popular figure with a new trip and Hasbro did a great job with color choice and design. The lack of detail on Flintlock does knock the figure down a bit but if you never plan on displaying the figure with its head missing then it really is not an issue.

PACKAGING

The packaging for the Optimus Prime voice changing helmet is designed very nicely, it grabs your eye on the shelf and shows the product as well as the features. Unfortunately it does not photograph well in my set-up so I apologize for the pictures not being the best.
Picture
Picture

HELMET

The helmet itself is entire plastic and can fit an adult sized head with some adjustments. There are 3 buttons on the side 2 of them that have pre-set phrases and sounds and a 3rd that activates the voice changer.
Picture
Picture
The voice changer is typical for this type of product, it sounds more like a distorted robot than Optimus Prime and it does not mask your voice very well when you speak. The phrase buttons have quick sayings from the movies but for some reason one of the buttons says a phrase and then plays the cartoon battle riff which I am pretty sure never has been in the live action movie. You can see videos of both of these functions below.

FINAL THOUGHTS

THE GOOD

THE BAD
 • Movie Accurate Design
 • Price Point Set Too High
 • Cartoon Battle Riff Doesn't Fit With Movie Products
 • Voice Changer is not the best
The Transformers : The Last Knight Optimus Prime voice changing helmet is made with an accurate design and that is about all it has going for it. The price point of $79.99 is way to high for a kids toy and the lack of features make it also too high for a collectible. If this piece was off-set with metal parts and light up eyes then it most likely would have sold me completely. Throwing in some movie phrases and a battle riff from the cartoon just doesn't do it. If you enjoy collecting the heads of giant fighting robots then by all means pick up this $80 item, if not then I say skip it.

Toy Line : Titans Return
Name : Alpha Trion
Titan Master : Sovereign
Faction : Autobot
Class : Voyager
Price Point : $24.99
Modes : 3

PACKAGING

Hasbro is still using the same packaging for the Transformers : Titans Return line that consists of the front of the packaging using a clear plastic window to show the figure in Robot Mode and the pack of the packaging giving a brief synopsis of the figure and the Titan Master that is included as well as a list of other figures available in this wave.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Once removed from the outer packaging Titans Return Alpha Trion is secured in his plastic with an excessive amount of plastic straps. I know I complain about this on all of my reviews of the Transformers line from Hasbro but it really annoys me because I always end up missing 1 or 2 of the straps. In case you were wondering, Alpha Trion is held in by 11 plastic straps.
Picture

ROBOT MODE

I am going to admit that when I first picked up Alpha Trion I was a bit concerned by the colors that Hasbro had chosen for him, however after taking him out of the packaging I really started to like them. The colors work very well together and are broken up by the silver on the lions head. Alpha Trion is easy to pose and I really like that they chose to make his sword a clear colored plastic.

The details in this figure are done very well but can always use some improvement if you are good with detailing. I like the head sculpt as well as the details used on his chest, these added features really bring the figure together.
Picture
Picture
Picture

BEAST MODE

Picture
Alpha Trion has a lion design when transformed, and getting him into this mode is simple. My only issue is that posing him becomes extremely limited and can be frustrating, aside from that he looks great.
Picture

FLIGHT MODE

Changing Alpha Trion from Robot Mode to Flight Mode is really easy, requires a few steps and looks great when completed. Again the colors do not look bad and Hasbro has found 2 spots to place Titan Master Sovereign when in this mode.
Picture
Picture

TITAN MASTER : SOVEREIGN

I have the same complaint about this Titan Master that I have had with all of the others, NO DETAIL. It really is annoying to have such a great figure but then Hasbro basically gives up when painting the Titan Master's, just a few added details would really make it perfect. The least they could do is figure out a way to hide the screw that is in the center of all of their torsos.

FINAL THOUGHTS

THE GOOD

THE BAD

 • Standard Price Point
 • Good Color Scheme
 • Easy To Transform
 • Details Where Needed
 • Weapon Design Is Great
 • Easy To Pose
 • Titan Master Lacking Details
Titans Return : Alpha Trion & Sovereign will make a great addition to any collection, the figure is sturdy, the design is great and there are details in Alpha Trion that make him looks amazing when displayed. The lack of detail in the Titan Master is just something we will have to deal with because the odds of Hasbro making a change to them this late in the run is minimal.

Takara MP - 34 Cheetor is the latest release for the Beast Wars line following Optimus Primal (MP - 32) & the second Maximal that has been made. It is important to note that we still have not seen any designs for the Predicon faction as of yet. Cheetor or Cheetus as it says on his packaging, is scaled to size based on the Beast Wars T.V. series making him an accurate height when standing next to Optimus Primal. This figure will cost you around $85.00 + Tax.
PUNCH "READ MORE" TO CONTINUE!

PACKAGING

Takara uses their usual packaging for this size figure and the same patterns as usual. The front of the box shows Cheetor in Robot and Beast Modes. The back of the package shows him in different poses as well as the additional faces they provide in the box.
Picture
Picture
Once removed from the box Cheetor is protected by a plastic shell which shows him in Beast Mode and allows you to see the extra face pieces that he comes with.
Picture

BEAST MODE

Takara did a very good job with the Beast Mode of Cheetor. They spent time adding the necessary details that the figure needed to really stand out. An example of this is that the head of his Beast Mode has whiskers and additionally the extra faces provided are expressions from the T.V. series. The three heads provided have movable jaws and Takara even put in the details for teeth and a tongue! The down side to his Beast Mode is that you can see some of the blue robot parts when looking at him from certain angles. This is not really Takara's fault since it would be very hard to hide these parts and keep costs down.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture

ROBOT MODE

The Transformation process from Beast Mode to Robot Mode is fairly simple but takes a complex turn when you need to move Cheetors head into the correct position. It took me a few tries of moving it then reversing that movement to realize what was actually needed. There is a point where you need to push the neck piece down after twisting the head around, this pushed down piece then locks into a blue tab on the front of the figure's chest. That issue aside MP- 34 Cheetor looks amazing once transformed, the detail used on this figure is perfect and the three extra heads provided all have the black spots that he had on his face in the T.V. series. The heads also contain a clear plastic that when held to a light great a glow in his eyes, it seems that Takara has been using this more often which is great! It addition to the eyes lighting up Takara also added the Maximal symbol on his head piece.
Picture
Picture
Cheetor comes with two weapons which can be easily stored on his back.
Picture
Picture
Picture

SIZE COMPARISON

As I stated earlier, MP - 34 Cheetor is scaled to size with MP - 32 Optimus Primal based on their sizes in the Beast Wars T.V. Series.

FINAL THOUGHTS

THE GOOD

THE BAD

 • Show Accurate Design
 • Small Added Details (Whiskers, Light Up Eyes)
 • Decent Price Point
 • Moderate Transformation Process
 • Easy to Pose
 • Show Accurate Size Scaling
 • Interchangeable Face Pieces
 • Some Robot Pieces Show When in Beast Mode
 • Parts of the Transformation Instructions Are Unclear
Takara MP - 34 Cheetor does a good job of bringing the T.V. Series design to life, the accurate height and attention to small detail makes this a great addition to any Masterpiece set! MP -34 Cheetor gets a perfect score!

Takara MP - 33 Inferno is a new design from Takara but brings us another Autobot. The amount of autobots created are greatly outweighing the decepticons if you do not count the countless repaints of the jets. MP-33 Inferno costs $139.99 but comes with multple accessories and looks great.

PUNCH the "READ MORE" break below to continue!

PACKAGING

MP-33 Inferno is packaged similar to rest of the Takara MP line, the front of the package shows Inferno in Robot Mode, the back shows various accessories and a size comparison. MP-33 Inferno is scaled in size with the other Master Piece figures and is show accurate.
Picture
Picture
Picture

ACCESSORIES

MP-33 Inferno comes with a variety of accessories, you can change out his chest/grill for a more show accurate cartoon version, a similar accessory is also given for is hand water cannon. You are provided a blaster, waster stream that attaches to his hand or ladder & a hose from the cartoon that he was attacked by. Additionally you are given multiple faces and a show accurate head piece. The oddest yet most interesting accessory given with MP-33 Inferno is a chest plate with attachments so you can reenact that time Inferno had to carry Red Alert in his arms....
Picture
Picture

VEHICLE MODE

MP-33 Inferno comes with stickers but no instructions on to where to put them, I ended up just putting 2 stickers where I felt they fit best. I put the F.D. stickers on his doors and they are still visible when he is transformed so this seems to be a good place for them. His vehicle mode can roll, the ladder moves up and down and you can attach the water stream to it as well. Inferno is fairly show accurate in Fire Engine Mode and there really is not anything bad to say about it.
Picture
Picture
Picture

ROBOT MODE

Transforming MP-33 Inferno from Vehicle Mode to Robot Mode is simple and takes onyl a few minutes to complete. The pictures in the instructions are east to follow and make the transformation process effortless. Once transformed Inferno looks great, his multiple accories give you options for different poses and he is sturdy enough where he is not going to topple over unless pushed.

FINAL THOUGHTS

THE GOOD

 • Accurate Design
 • Great Accessories
 • Easy To Pose
 • Instructions Are Clear

THE BAD

 • Stickers
 • High Price Point
 • Another Autobot
Overall MP-33 Inferno is a great figure and is definitely something you want to add to your MP collection. In the "Bad" section I put that he is another Autobot, I know I can not really down grade the figure for this, but it is more of a personal gripe with Takara. How many Autobots are they going to make before we get another Decepticon? There are so many Decepticons they could be giving us! They could be starting an MP-Combiner line, who wouldn't want to see Motor Master and the Stunticons? or the Constructicons? However I am not going to hit MP-33 in the PUNCHES for him being an Autobot.

Titans Return : Highbrow and Xort seem to be harder to locate than most of the previous Titans Return wave. This is most likely because most stores are still filled with wave one and have no reason to order wave two until they can sell through previous stock. This is making it very difficult to find wave 2 of the Titans Return figures in stores. I actually found Highbrow at New York ComicCon this year but I have not had the chance to open him until today. From the packaging we learn that Xort gives Highbrow the ability to manipulate gravitational fields.PUNCH the "READ MORE" tag below to continue to the review!

Packaging

Highbrow comes in the same Hasbro packaging we have been seeing for a long time now, clear plastic case with cardboard backing and of course WAY too many plastic ties holding the figure into its shell. I really want to know what made them decide to use so many of these little plastic ties. You can accomplish the same anti-theft affect with 4 or 5 there is no need for 9 of them.
Picture
Picture

Robot Mode

Picture
First I want to say how much I like the colors they chose for Highbrow, the blue and gray work well together and really make the figures details stand out. He comes with two guns and is stable enough to pose in a variety of ways with no issue.
Picture

Vehicle Mode

Transforming Highbrow from Robot to Vehicle mode is easy and there are steps in the instructions that could have been combined with other steps to help shrink down the ridiculously long instruction sheet. This is not a major issue and most of the part moves are common sense if you are used to the Hasbro Transformers line. Highbrow transforms into an attack helicopter complete with spinning blades and gun attachment holes. The cockpit is done in an orange clear glass which works well with the blue and gray coloring of the figure.
Picture
Picture

Titan Master - Xort

I have the same complaint with Xort that I have with EVERY Titan Master, NO DETAIL. This is so frustrating because Highbrow is so detailed and then Xort is just a rushed after thought. The cockpit of Highbrow does open to allow Xort to sit inside if you plan on leaving him in Vehicle Mode like I do then this is a good added feature.
Picture
Picture

Comparison

Titans Return : Highbrow stands slightly taller than Titans Return : Chromedome and is of course taller than Titans Return : Wheelie as well. I feel like the scaled him well with the Titans Return line of figures.

Final Thoughts

The Good

The Bad

 • Great Color Scheme
 • Easy To Transform
 • Easy To Pose
 • Both Modes Look Great
 • Very Detailed
 • Lack Of Detail In Xort
 • Hard To Find
 • Another Autobot
I know added that Highbrow is another Autobot to the bad column is not really the figures fault, but Hasbro loves to gives us tons of Autobots and not enough Decepticons, right now I have 9 Autobots from the Titans Return line and 4 Decepticons. It's not that I am actively avoiding the Decepticon faction, it is the fact that Hasbro favors the Autobot faction a bit more. In the end Highbrow i s good figure to add to your collection and he is hard to find so if you see one I suggest grabbing it now rather than later. I have added Highbrow to the Amazon links below so if you want him there he is for $19.06!

Takara Masterpiece 32 - Optimus Primal is the first figure we have received from the Beast Wars series with Cheetor to follow early next year. Optimus Primal is priced at $102.00 on Amazon.com (with free standard shipping) & $119.99 on www.BigBadToyStore.com and shipping is not free. If you want to purchase MP-32 Optimus Primal PUNCH the Amazon link provided!

Below I will go into detail about the figure, from its packaging to how it is designed. PUNCH the "READ MORE" tag below to continue!

Packaging

The packaging for MP-32 is very similar to the packaging of other Takara Masterpiece figures. The front shows an image of Optimus Primal in Best Mode & Robot Mode, one side has him in Robot Mode the other side of the box has him in Beast Mode as well. The rear of the packaging shows his multiple poses, faces, weapons and has a bunch of Japanese writing that I of course have no idea what it says but we can assume it says something like "MP-32 OPTIMUS PRIMAL IS AMAZING AND EVERYONE SHOULD BUY ONE" or something along those lines.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
When removed from the box, Optimus Primal is secured in a plastic shell just like all of the other MP Figures. You can see he comes with multiple faces for his beast and robot modes as well as his 2 energy sabers.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture

Beast Mode

Takara did a very good job with the Beast Mode of Optimus Primal. He can stand up, his arms bend at the elbow but they do look a bit weird, and he can stand on all four limbs if you want. Besides the elbow joint just detaching for movement (Shown Right), this design is really well done and the multiple facial expressions they chose are show accurate.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture

Robot Mode

Take everything Takara did right with the Beast Mode for MP-32 and times it by 10 for the Robot Mode. The details the placed into Optimus Primal are great, he is easy to transform and very easy to pose. The pieces move effortlessly and the instructions are very clear and easy to figure out. The 2 swords fit in his hands with no issues, and they even gave us his back cannon and arm blasters as well. The arm blaster is hidden directly in his arm and all you need to do is push a small unseen button under his arm to release them. I felt like this was a great idea and feature because you do not need to switch out any pieces to have the guns be present. Optimus Primal does have light up eyes that require 2 LR-44 button batteries and need to be installed before you transform him from Beast Mode to Robot Mode. The fact that Takara does not include batteries with the figure is frustrating but could be because its harder to shit items with batteries over sees.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture

Comparison

MP-32 Optimus Primal is on the shorter end of the Takara Masterpiece Figures, he stands shorter than MP-10 Optimus Prime as well as Combiner Wars Bruticus. The real test for size will be when MP-Cheetor is released so see if they are show height accurate. Takara usually does a good job with scaling so this should not be an issue.

Final Thoughts

The Good

 • Highly Detailed
 • Easy To Transform
 • Multiple Facial Expressions
 • Weapons Are Detailed
 • Easy To Pose
 • Light Up Eyes In Robot Mode

The Bad

 • Elbow Joints Could Be Better
 • Batteries Not Included
These are the reasons MP-32 Optimus Primal is getting 4.5 out of 5 PUNCHES! If you have been undecided about picking up this figure I hope this review helped you decide. Optimus Primal is a great addition to the Takara Masterpiece line and was a great choice to start the Beast Wars series of MP figures!

Titans Return : Chromedome is a Deluxe Class figure that can change from Car to Autobot. This figure is priced at $16.99 and is available at most toy retail stores. According to the packaging:

"Autobot Stylor gives Chromedome the power of Mnemosurgery : The ability to access and edit another bot's memories."

I am going to start off by saying if you read the Transformers : More Than Meets The Eye comic that just finished up with issue #57 you know that Chromedome already has this ability and so do other Transformers. I am not too sure why they would have it so Stylor gives him the ability. If you haven't read More Than Meets The Eye the I suggest you order it! (I have put some Amazon links below.)

Packaging

Chromedome comes packaged the same as the other Deluxe Glass figures, clear window package, already in robot mode and way too many plastic ties as always.
Picture
Picture
Picture

Robot Mode

I was a bit concerned by the colors that Hasbro had chosen for Chromedome but after taking him out of the packaging I learned that my concerns were unwarranted. The colors used compliment each-other very well and its a nice change from the bright neon colors they have been giving the other Autobots in the Titans Return line. His joints work very well and he is easy to pose, the clear plastic on the tires gives it an extra cool look.

If you haven't read the More Than Meets The Eye Comic from IDW then SPOILERS AHEAD!

If you have then you know I could not pass up a chance to take some pictures of Titans Return Chromedome with Rewind!
Picture
Picture
Picture

Vehicle Mode

Picture
Transforming Chromedome from Robot Mode to Vehicle Mode is done in a few easy steps with no issues, the pieces lock together easily and the instructions are as clear as they could be. The only issue I had with this figures vehicle mode was where they ask you to put the weapons, the larger gun has these 2 pegs on the sides and when you place the button peg into the side of the vehicle it lifts him slightly off the ground. That small issue aside, Chromedome looks great in vehicle mode! The clear plastic on the tires and windshield are nice added features for detail.
Picture

Titan Master - Stylor

I have the same issue every time with the Titan Master figures, they lack any detail. Stylor is just painted red with a tiny bit of brown. Stylor can sit inside Chromedome when he is vehicle mode so that is a nice added feature.

The Good

The Bad

 • Good Color Scheme
 • Easy To Transform
 • Easily Posed
 • Clear Plastic Details
 • Looks Great In Both Modes
 • Odd Titan Master Story
 • Bad Vehicle Mode Gun Placement
 • Titan Master NOT Detailed
Overall Titans Return : Chromedome & Stylor are a good purchase with very few issues. The reasons mention is why I am giving Titans Return Chromedome & Stylor 4 out of 5 PUNCHES!

Titans Return Mindwipe & Vorath are Delux Class figures that cost $16.99. Mindwipe transforms from Decepticon to a bat, comes with 2 weapons which turn into his tail in Bat Mode and is available anywhere Transformers Titans Return figures are sold.

Character Bio :

"The Decepticons unito with Titan Master partners to power up for battle! Vorath gives Mindwipe control over other bots' central processors, making them servants that do his bidding."

To find out more about Mindwipe & Vorath continue below!

Packaging

Titans Return Mindwipe comes in the normal Delux Class packaging from Hasbro. The front of the box lets you see the figure strapped inside with WAY to many plastic restraints as always (9 of them), and shows the head of Mindwipe flying away as Vorath. The back of the packaging shows his two different modes and has a brief explanation of the characters.
Picture
Picture
Picture

Robot Mode

Picture
Mindwipe is actually fairly well detailed in Robot mode, his design is good and his joints move easily, his block style legs do make it a bit hard to pose him but they keep him stable. I like the color design on this figure the brown & black areas keep the purple toned down a bit so it is not overpowering the figure.
Picture
Picture

Bat Mode

Picture
Transforming Midewipe from Robot Mode to Bat Mode is done in 16 steps with the only annoying part being that the instruction sheet is really long when unfolded. Once transformed you will see that Bat Mode severely limits your ability to pose Mindwipe, the legs and head are locked in place leaving the only movable parts to be his wing joints. It took a bit of work but if you bend the wings slightly inward I feel that it makes Mindwipe look alot better. Additionally his weapons combine to become his tail which are on a bendable joint and can be moved slightly up or down. The head sculpt for Mindwipe's Bat Mode is actually a rubber material and not plastic but it is still detailed very well.

Titan Master - Vorath

As usual with the Titan Master figures, Vorath lacks any attempt at detail. He is tiny and if not kept in a safe place you will have a headless Mindwipe. Vorath actually does have a safe place to be kept if you leave Mindwipe in Bat Mode, the clear plastic chest of the figure opens up revealing a seat for Vorath to sit in securely.

Comparison

Mindwipe is taller than Titans Return Wheelie but seems to be on the shorter side of the Deluxe Class figures, standing shorter than Titans Returns Scourge. He is also shorter than Leader Class Power Master Optimus Prime and Combiner Wars Bruticus as expected.

Final Thoughts

The Good

 • Great Design
 • Easy To Pose (Robot Mode)
 • Two Weapons
 • Decent Color Scheme
 • Really Detailed Head Design (Bat Mode)
 • Titan Master Storage (Bat Mode)

The Bad

 • Limited Poses (Bat Mode)
 • Titan Master Lacks Detail
Based on the results the good of this figure clearly outweigh the bad, these are the reasons Titans Return Mindwipe & Vorath get 4 out of 5 PUNCHES. If you see him in the store I would say its a good purchase to make.

Titans Return Blaster is a triple changing Leader Class figure that comes with Titan Master Twin Cast and can change from Robot to Boombox to City. Leader Class figures are currently priced at $44.99 and this figure is not a retailer exclusive so you can basically pick him up anywhere Transformers figures are sold.

Character Bio:

"To decode encrypted Decepticon transmissions, Autobot Blaster links with his Titan Master partner, Twin Cast. Twin Cast is a walking cipher-a bot with the most advanced cryptography programming in the universe. He may be small, but he's one of the most powerful Autobot weapons."

To find out more about Titans Return Blaster & Twin Cast continue reading below!

Packaging

Titans Return Blaster comes in the normal Leader Class packaging from Hasbro. The front of the box lets you see the figure strapped inside with WAY to many plastic restraints (9 of them), and shows the head of Blaster flying away as Twin Cast, however this image is not correct, for Twin Cast to become free from Blaster you need to fold his head piece back into his body it does not detach with Twin Cast inside it as depicted in the picture on the box. The back of the packaging shows his three different modes and has a brief explanation of the character.
Picture
Picture
Picture

Robot Mode

Blaster is actually a really nice looking figure and I feel like he is an Autobot that we rarely get so to see him done well is great. His chest plate has a release button and if you picked up Autobots Rewind & Stripes they will fit right in there when transformed but only 1 can fit at a time. The head design of Blaster looks very good and has a clear plastic part built in so his eyes can be seen through his visor. Blaster also comes with his gun as well as a stock "Cassette". He is easy to pose but my only issue with his Robot Mode was that his hands do not open, they are stuck in that fist form. This is annoying but not a deal breaker.

Picture
Picture
Picture

Boombox Mode

Transforming Blaster from Robot Mode to his Boombox mode is simple and the pieces lock together fairly easily. There is a missing step in the instructions which is the part where you need to fold his hands into his body, but its obvious that it has to be done shortly into the transformation. When transformed into Boombox Mode you can still open Blaster's cassette deck by pressing the release button on top.
Picture
Picture

City Mode

Transforming from Boombox to City is done in a few easy steps, the pieces move effortlessly and once completed it does not look bad at all. Blaster has alot of additional guns that come out in this mode and his stock cassette becomes a place to sit Titan Master Twin Cast. As an added bonus like with Power Master Optimus Prime, when Blaster is in City Mode he combines with Fortess Maximus to make additional city areas for all of your Autobot friends.
Picture
Picture

Titan Master - Twin Cast

I have the same issue with Titan Master Twin Cast that I have with all of the Titan Masters so far, NO DETAILS. They put no effort into them at all and it is so frustrating because it brings the quality of the entire figure down with it.
Picture
Picture

Comparison

Titans Return Blaster is the same height as Power Master Optimus Prime if you don't count his shoulder points, and he is taller than Titans Return Galvatron and Scourge. Galvatron being such a small figure bothers me when you get Leader Class figures like Blaster and Optimus Prime it almost doesn't make much sense.

Transformers : Titans Return Power Master Optimus Prime is a Leader Class figure and comes with Head Master Apex. Power Master Optimus Prime is priced at $44.99 and can be found at all regular retailers as well as online. Optimus Prime can change from robot mode to a truck with a trailer to a city attachment for Fortress Maximus. The back of the package gives a brief overview of how Apex can assist Optimus Prime in battle, it reads :

"Optimus Prime will stamd against any threat. Autobot Apex helps him face the enemies that even the Autobot Commander cannot face alone. The Titan Master carries a portion of the spark & power of Optimus Prime, increasing the legendary warrior's already immense strength, speed & intelligence."

Below you will find a complete review of Power Master Optimus Prime.

Packaging

The packaging used for Power Master Optimus Prime is the standard Hasbro packaging we have seen from the previous lines. The front of the box has clear plastic that allows you to see the figure in robot mode, the back shows the transformation modes as well as a brief story and other available figures. As usual Hasbro goes overboard with the plastic ties to hold the figure in, Power Master Optimus has 10 of them!
Picture
Picture
Picture

Robot Mode

The Robot Mode for Power Master Optimus Prime is not bad, but its not great either. He is bulky which makes posing him harder than it needs to be & his trailer is actually part of him which gives him more of an Ultra Magnus feel and not really an Optimus Prime feel. He has some good details but not enough to make up for his limited movement.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture

Vehicle Mode

Picture
Transformation into Vehicle Mode is less than pleasant, the instructions at times can be unclear and the pieces do not line up unless they are forced. It took me way longer than it should have to convert Optimus Prime from Robot Mode to Vehicle Mode, it was actually frustrating at times. Once the transformation is complete, it does look good. The cab is pulled forward to allow turning and the only major issue is to not apply pressure to the trailer because all of the pieces will pop apart from the grooves they have been set in. A missed opportunity in my opinion is that you can not actually place anything in the trailer, Optimus Prime's chest piece is folded into there and if you attempt to open the back the trailer will separate and you are back to cursing at this figure again.
Picture
Picture

City Mode

As I mentioned early Power Master Optimus Prime has a City Mode which allows him to attach to Fortress Maximus' City Mode as well. This is pointless, it really does not look too great and again the instruction are unclear! The portion of the instructions where you need to move the legs of Optimus are really vague and I actually put the instructions to the side and figured out what they wanted me to do form looking at the picture on the back of the box.
Picture

Titan Master Apex

Titan Master Apex is formed from the head of Optimus Prime and I have the same complaint about him that I had with other Titans Return figures, NO DETAIL! These Titan Masters really just need a bit more love in the paint area to make them look alot better. Apex can attach to different parts of Optimus Prime in City & Vehicle Modes via the little pegs scattered around Optimus, so at least they put some thought into that.
Picture

Comparison Pictures

I decided to compare Titans Return : Power Master Optimus Prime to Takara Master Piece Ultra Magnus (MP-22) since they are so similar in design. Power Master Optimus Prime is shorter than MP-22 Ultra Magnus but you can see how the designs are similar in the photos below. I also compared him to Combiner Wars Bruticus which is is also shorter than.

Final Thoughts

The Good

 • Triple Change
 • Vehicle Mode With Trailer
 • Semi-Detailed
 • Decent Size

The Bad

 • High Price Point
 • Too Similar to Ultra Magnus
 • Transformation Instructions Unclear
 • Pieces Do Not Line Up Easily
 • City Mode Is A Waste
 • No Detachable Trailer
 • Can Not Place Things In Trailer
I really wanted to like Power Master Optimus Prime, but he made it too hard to do. The bad parts of this figure over power the good parts, if you really need an Optimus Prime figure then maybe pic him up and never transform him, other wise skip this figure entirely. Transformers : Titans Return - Power Master Optimus Prime & Apex gets 2 out of 5 PUNCHES.

Titans Return : Wheelie is a Legends Class figure that looks like a piece of candy corn when in vehicle mode, comes with no weapons and will cost you $9.99. If you remember the the original Transformers: The Movie from about 30 yrs ago then you will remember Wheelie as the annoying little Transformer that rhymes all the time and helps the Dinobots locate Kup and Hot Rod right before they are destroyed. Check out the full review of Titans Return : Wheelie by giving a PUNCH to the "Read More" break below!

Packaging

Titans Return Wheelie comes packaged the same way the other Legends Class figures are packaged. Clear plastic shell casing taped to a cardboard back piece and the figure is held in with way too many plastic ties.
Picture
Picture
Picture

Vehicle Mode

Picture
Transformation from Robot to Vehicle mode is simple, only requiring a few steps. The actual vehicle mode is fairly well designed but details are limited. Being such a small figure there really is not much to say about it except that he looks like a piece of candy corn.
Picture

Robot Mode

Wheelie is a basic Legends Class figure in robot mode except for a few things, he is shorter than other Legends Class figures and does not come with any weapons but is still $9.99 which to me seems like a bit of a messed up move by Hasbro. Other than those issues he is a decent figure and has usual Legends Class joint movement.
Picture

Comparison

As I stated in the previous section Titans Return : Wheelie is shorter than other Legends Class Figures of this line (not counting Stripes who has a Beast Mode).

Final Thoughts

The Good

The Bad

 • Detailed Design
 • Fairly Accurate Design
 • Looks Like Candy Corn (This could be good or bad depending on how you feel about candy corn.)
 • Shorter Than Average Legends Class
 • No Weapon / Accessory
 • Another Autobot
In the end I still have the same opinion about the Legends Class, buy only the ones you really want and don't spend the constant $9.99. The lack of a weapon or accessory really annoyed me here. They could have given Wheelie his slingshot from the original movie but chose instead to give him nothing. I am given Wheelie 3.5 out of 5 PUNCHES. He is not a bad figure but he could have been better. Get him if you see him in a store and want to have him but don't rush around looking for him.

Transformers: Titans Return Rewind & Stripes are Legend Class figures and both have 3 modes, Robot/Beast , Tank/Jet & Spy Tablet. These figures vary in price online but on average cost about $9.99 each and are compatible with Titans Return Blaster. PUNCH the Read More Break below to learn more.

Packaging

Picture
There is nothing to really say about the packaging for Titans Return Rewind or Stripes, they are packaged in the standard Hasbro packaging. The front displays the figure, the name and shows an alt mode. The back of the packaging shows the 3 modes that the Transformer can change into. The figures are held into their packaging by those plastic bands that Hasbro has a tendency to over use, Rewind had about 5 or 6 of them holding him in place.
Picture

Rewind

Picture
If you are familiar with the Transformers comics such as More Than Meets The Eye then you know that Rewind is a big part of that series and is basically a walking database of Cybertronian knowledge. In the Titans Return line Rewind can change from Robot to Tank to a Cassette type of device that can be placed into the chest of Titans Return Leader Class Blaster. Transformation into the 3 modes are simple and his design is done pretty well. The stickers are preattached to him and the ones on my figure were pealing off, this is easily fixed with some glue so not really a major issue. When transformed into Cassette mode Rewind's blaster fits directly into a place provided for it.

Stripes

Picture
Stripes can change from Beast Mode to a Jet to what I am going to assume is a cellphone, transformation is simple and similar to Rewind the sticks come already attached even though the instructions show that you have to put them on. Stripes is fairly well detailed and is also compatible with Leader Class Blaster.
Picture
Picture

Height Comparison

Legends class Rewind is the average height for this figure type and looks good when scaled next to other figures in the Titans Return line.

Final Thoughts

Titans Return: Rewind & Stripes are good additions to the Titans Return line and their added compatibility with Titans Return Blaster make them worth picking up. There really is not anything bad I can say about them but they are definitely not perfect. That is why Titans Return: Rewind & Stripes get a combined review score of 4 out of 5 PUNCHES.

I decided to lump these three figures together and honestly it will most like be the only review I do on the Titan Master part of the Titans Returns set. These figures are extra heads and weapons for the Titans Returns line, they will cost you about $4.99 each depending on where you find them they come partially transformed and the instructions do not start from how they come out of the packaging so trying to figure out what in the name of Alpha Trion they want you to do! Check out the figures below.

Packaging

Picture
Nightbeat, Loudmouth & Clobber come packed pretty well, one piece of tape on the side that can easily be ripped but be careful if you open it too carelessly the figure flies out into the air! The pack of the packaging does not give any description and just informs you that they are compatible with the Deluxe, Voyager & Leader Classes.
Picture

Nightbeat, Loudmouth & Clobber

As I stated in the introduction these figures come partially transformed and you need to reverse the process from the middle to get where you want to be. This is very frustrating for a easy transformation figure, it is almost as if Hasbro's instruction design team and packaging design teams did not collaborate at all on this set.

What else can they do?

The only other use for the Titan Masters is if for some reason you want to replace the actual heads of other Titans Return figures with these guys. I personally do not see the point, but if you want Scourge to run around with Loudmouth as a head you can.
Picture

Final Thoughts

TO THE SMELTING PITS WITH THESE FIGURES! If for some reason you really feel the need to buy the Titan Masters I strongly suggest just buying the ones for the characters that you like and not buying the entire set. They really serve no purpose and it seems like they are only here to give representation to the characters we rarely see. Is it possible they will have something to do in the Transformers: Titans Return comic by IDW Publishing? It absolutely is, but will you drastically need these figures to make your collection of Titans Return figures amazing? Absolutely not. I am giving Titans Return Head Masters (yup the entire set of them that they are making) ZERO out of FIVE PUNCHES. This is our first ever 0 PUNCH review and I really toyed with giving them at least 1 PUNCH, but i just couldn't do it. They are just that bad!

]]><![CDATA[Titans Return - Fortress Maximus Review]]>Mon, 18 Jul 2016 01:44:41 GMThttp://www.power-punch.net/transformers-figure-review/titans-return-fortress-maximus-reviewPicture
Titans Return Fortress Maximus is a Titan Class figure. He stands roughly 2 feet tall and is a triple changer. He can change from robot to attack ship to a fortress, it would be weird if Fortress Maximus did not turn into a fortress wouldn't it? His head comes free and turns into Titan Master Cerebros and then the head of Cerebros comes off to change into Emissary. Titans Return Fortress Maximus does not come with any weapons but some third party companies have made a pretty nice sword for him. PUNCH the "Read More" break to continue.

How Is He Packaged?

Picture
The box art for Titans Return Fortress Maximus is awesome. The front shows his 3 modes and him fighting with a gun that he does not have in the box and his knee guns firing. The side shows the head flying away or landing image (I still can not tell which way it is going) and the back shows more details for the figure. Fortress Maximus is strapped into his packaging pretty securely with rope ties and some of those clear elastic straps as well. He is also packaged with one of his arms detached so you will need to pop that into place once you free him from his restraints.
Picture
Picture
Picture

Stickers....

That is right I said it, the dreaded "S" word STICKERS. If you read my reviews often enough you know I always dread stickers and Fortress Maximus has renewed my Stickerphobia. The sticker sheet is normal except for a few issues, first the stickers and the page they are on do not cooperate and some parts of the page actually break away completely making it hard to pull the sticker free, secondly they want you to put these stickers in places a normal sized hand can not go, and lastly some times the sticker directions are unclear, simply placing an arrow on a diagram of Fortress Maximus but leaving you guessing which way the sticker should face. I suggest using a tweezers to place the stickers on and alleviate any stickerstress.
Picture

Robot Mode

I have to start out by saying I really set my expectations for Fortress Maximus pretty high. Titan Class Metroplex is a great figure so I expected Fortress Maximus to hold his own in those regards. The color scheme for Fortress Maximus is true to his original design and he has lights and sounds as well. Here is where he starts to fall apart, Metroplex has a full array of voice lines, for example he would say "Metroplex heeds the call of the last Prime" or "You Decepticons scatter like cowards!" pretty cool things for a giant Transformer to say. If you follow Fortress Maximus in his comic appearances he is a force to be reckoned with and says full sentences, even in his appearances on the show he was a pretty important character. I have no idea if they plan on changing this in the Titans Return comic coming out soon from IDK Publishing BUT the Fortress Maximus figure can only say one word sentences. He can say "Autobot", "Decepticon" & his own name "Fortress Maximus" he can also make some random blaster and transformation noises. This was a big let down for me, I hope somewhere down the line I can find an explanation for this. In the end I am going to just display him on a shelf and he will still look awesome!
Picture

Alt Modes

Fortress Maximus is easily changed into his two alt modes, but even they leave you wanting more. Now I know I shouldn't beat him up too much because it does state on the box and in the instructions that his fortress mode combines with Titans Return Blaster and Titans Return Power Master Optimus Prime to make a larger city. Either way I just expected more from him. Basically you are just laying Fortress Maximus on his back and moving his arms and legs around to create both forms. Check out the photos below and see for yourself. (Ignore my terrible floor this figure is too big for my usual set up.)
Picture
Fortress Maximus - Attack Mode
Picture
Fortress Maximus - Attack Mode
Picture
Fortress Maximus - Fortress Mode
The legs of Fortress Maximus are the same legs on Metroplex and can be opened in the middle but for some reason the transformation process neglects this completely. Also I am aware that I forgot to put Cerebros back into the tower portion in the center, he would not have made a huge difference since this figure is already stomping on my expectations.

Cerebros & Emissary

The head of Fortress Maximus detaches and transforms into Cerebros, the head of Cerebros then can detach and become Emissary. The only unique thing about Cerebros is that when changed from the Fortress Maximus head into his own figure he says different things. These things consist of more random noises and him saying "Cerebros" apparently even his head can not make a full sentence.

Fortress Maximus Height Comparison

As I stated earlier Fortress Maximus is a Titan Class figure meaning he is tall! He stands shorter than Imaginext Dino Megazord by about a foot, slightly shorter than Titan Class Metroplex, but towers over Combiner Wars Devastator and Combiner Wars Bruticus.

Final Thoughts

In my opinion Fortress Maximus had alot to live up to when you look at Metroplex and I feel he does not even come close.
The Good :
 • Color Scheme is pretty accurate and very patriotic.
 • Titan Class figures are an impressive size
 • Easily Transformed
 • Easily Posed
The Bad:
 • Stickers
 • No weapon included
 • Limited voice function
 • Alt modes needed more effort put into them
This is basically how I feel about Fortress Maximus. It is a bit blurry but it reads "..But everyone's like "Oh Fortress Maximus you're my hero! You've got guns in your legs and you killed tons of Cons at Simanzi..." and I'm like "That was a Thousand years ago! He's a relic! He's a has-been He's..."
Picture
Transformers : More Than Meets The Eye. IDW Publishing
The next frame of that issue is this. "We were just talking about Simanzi! With the thing and the - the stuff! So... Oh wow! you've got guns in your legs! Hows that working out for you? That's awesome man. You're Awesome."
Picture
Transformers : More Than Meets The Eye. IDW Publishing
All joking aside I can not fail Fortress Maximus for his bad aspects when his good aspects help balance them out. I would have definitely liked to have seen more effort put into him with the sounds and lights as well as more detail in his transformation process, but these are not reasons to give him a terrible score. He is still going to look pretty impressive on a shelf. That is why I am going to give Titans Return Fortress Maximus 4 out of 5 PUNCHES!

Transformers Titans Return Blurr is a Deluxe Class figure, comes with Titan Master Hyperfire and can transform into a Cybertronian vehicle. Hyperfire gives Blurr the ability to go faster. PUNCH the "Read More" break below to find out more!

Robot Mode

Robot Mode for Titans Return Blurr is great. We rarely are given a Blurr figure so seeing that they did a great job with him makes me happy. I have one slight issue that you will see in some of the photos, the inner parts of his arms are hollow which makes it a bit annoying when trying to get a good picture of him posed. He stands up on his own and is easy to pose too. You will notice in the photos below I have placed the front part of his Vehicle Mode on his arm, it is actually meant to be on his back but I felt it looked better attached to his arm and they do have some holes there that are not used. Check out Blurr below!

Vehicle Mode

Picture
Blurr's Vehicle Mode is great! it looks good and it has wheels on the bottom to help him role. Transformation is easy and only takes a few minutes. I had a slight issue with one of his arms but nothing major and opening up his hatch/seat area is a bit hard considering your fingers do not fit in the space provided, I had to use his gun to pop it open. I really like the colors used on Blurr, they aren't neon like some of the other figures so it gives him a toned down feel.
Picture

Titan Master - Hyperfire

Hyperfire is done in the same color scheme as Blurr except his paint is a bit more glossy. The glossy paint style combined with the color scheme made it hard to get a good picture of Hyperfire. This is a bit frustrating but not the end of Cybertron as we know it, I was able to get a few pictures of him that look semi-decent.
Picture

Size Comparison

Titans Return Blurr sizes up fairly well with the other Titans Return figures. He actually comes up a bit shorter than Hardhead & Scourge but still looks good standing next to them. Check out the comparison photos below!

In conclusion, Titans Return Blurr is a great figure that should be added to your collection. The figure design is unique, the colors are great, transformation is easy and you can pose him in a variety of ways. I am giving Transformers Titans Return : Blurr & Hyperfire 4 out of 5 PUNCHES!

Robot Mode

Titants Return Hardhead is a different design compared to recent Transformer figures and I like that. Don't get my wrong I love seeing Starscream and other of the more common Transformers but sometimes getting a figure with a new design is way better. Hardhead stands up on his own, has a good color scheme in Robot Mode and his tank barrel is on a joint so it can be left back or moved to his shoulder.

Tank Mode

Picture
Hardhead's Tank Mode looks similar to Tankor but not really. The transformation process is simple and the instructions are clear. The colors work well together which is good because I was worried that the lime green would have been too much. Hasbro put wheels on the bottom of him so he can be rolled as well.
Picture

Titan Master - Furos

Picture
I have the same complaint about all of the Titan Masters so far, they lack the little extra paint detail that could make them look great. Aside from that Furos can be placed into Hardheads' cannon or into his cockpit depending on your mood.

Size

Titans Return Hardhead fits well when compared to other Titans Return figures but comes up on the small size when compared to MP-10 Optimus Prime, Legacy Dino Megazord & Combiner Wars Bruticus.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion Titans Return Hardhead & Furos are easy to pose, have a decent color scheme, a different Alt Mode and are easy to Transform. I would definitely recommend to pick him up if you see him on the shelf. This is why I am giving Titans Return Hardhead & Furos 4 out 5 PUNCHES!

Transformers Titan Wars Sentinel Prime is a Voyager Class figure and a Triple Changer. Sentinal Prime can change from Robot to Spaceship to Train and comes with Titan Master Infinitus. Infinitus gives Sentinel Prime the ability to slow down time so Sentinel Prime can attack the Decepticons with precision aim. To learn more about Titan Wars Sentinel Prime PUNCH the "Read More" break below!

Box Art

Packaging for Sentinel Prime is similar to previous Voyager Class figures. The front of the box shows Sentinel Prime in Robot Mode, the side has art depicting his head either flying away or landing on his body and the back shows his three modes and gives a brief story on the powers Titan Master Infinitus gives to Sentinel Prime.

Robot Mode

SO MUCH ORANGE. The color scheme on Sentinel Prime is odd, the chose to go with orange and red with some yellow and grey pieces through out. It's ALOT of orange and red. Other than the color scheme Sentinel Prime is sturdy and stands with little effort, he is easy to pose and does not look so bad. The only annoying issue I had with him was the design of his feet. I found if you flip them the other way he actually stands better.
Picture

Picture

Spaceship Mode

Picture
Transforming Sentinel Prime from Robot Mode to Spaceship Mode is simple and the instructions are very clear. The guns mount to the side but still there is alot of orange and red in the design. Good design , bad color choices
Picture

Train Mode

Picture
Changing Sentinel Prime from Spaceship Mode to Train Mode is also simple and the instructions are pretty much perfect. The train design is nice a bit skinnier than I would have liked it to be but still nice. It is long as well which is something we do not get from the Transformers line very often. Sentinel Prime in Train Mode is longer than MP-10 Optimus Prime when laying down side by side.
Picture
Picture

Titan Master - Infinitus

The head of Sentinel Prime turns into Titan Master Infinitus. He is small and most likely will easily be misplaced if separated from Sentinel Prime. He has more color detail than the other Titan Masters I have seen from the series but still could use some more paint in spots. He is able to ride in Sentinel Prime when in Spaceship Mode or Train Mode which is a cool added feature.

Size Comparison

When standing next to other figures in the Titans Return series Sentinel Prime falls right in line. He is definitely a good height for this set. When compared to MP-10 Optimus Prime, Legacy Dino Megazord & Combiner Wars Bruticus he is very small.

Final Thoughts

Overall Titans Return Sentinel Prime & Infinitus are not bad figures to add to your collection. I would have liked to see them give him a more unique transformation mode instead of stealing Astrotrain's modes from him. We are also expected to get an Astrotrain figure in 2017 which is basically going to be a repaint of Sentinel Prime now. The colors are obnoxious but not terrible, transformation is simple and aside from the weird feet they gave him he is pretty easy to stand and pose. These are the reasons Sentinel Prime is getting 4 out of 5 PUNCHES!

Picture
Transformers Titans Return Scourge is a Deluxe Class figure and comes with Titan Master Fracas which gives him the added ability of being able to steal the powers bots allowing Scourge to harness their power for his own. Packaging is typical for a Deluxe Class figure similar to the Combiner Wars figures but with out the IDW comic attached. Scourge has two transformation modes Robot & Cybertronian Ship. PUNCH the "Read More" break for more info!
Picture

Robot Mode

I could not find anything bad about the Robot Mode for Scourge. His colors are good, he stands up well on his own (even with his huge back piece), his joins are not loose ,he can be posed easily and he is decently detailed for a Deluxe Class figure.

Flight Mode

Picture
Scourge - Flight Mode
Transforming Scourge to flight mode is simple and only takes a few steps. The instructions are clear and once transformed he looks great. My only issue with this mode is that it was hard to get the nose to clip together correctly and you can see the seem where it is separating up the middle on the front of the figure. Also it would have been nice if they put metallic silver paint on the rear thrusters. They just blend in too much with the rest of the figure. This can easily be corrected with a silver sharpie or touch up paint.
Picture
Picture

Titan Master Fracas

Fracas is similar to the other Titan Masters just with the color scheme of Scourge's head. There is not much to say about them. They are small and lack detail. I always suggest if you are good with figure detailing to put your own touch on the Titan Masters. In the end I display these figures in robot mode so the lack of detail is not the end of Cybertron for me, it would just be a nice added touch.
Picture

Size Check, Aisle Nine!

When comparing Scourge to MP-10 Optimus Prime, Legacy Dino Megazord & Combiner Wars Bruticus, he comes up very short. However when compared to Titans Return Galvatron he comes up at a decent height for the series. I have no issues with the height of Scourge for this set I think he fits it quiet well.

Final Thoughts

There really isn't anything bad I can say about Titans Return Scourge besides that slight issue with his Flight Mode design. His details are good, he stands on his own, can be posed easily and is a good height when compared to Titans Return Galvatron. I am giving Titans Return Scourge 4 out of 5 PUNCHES!

Picture
Titans Return Skullsmasher formerly known as Skullcruncher is a Deluxe Class figure that turns from Robot to Crocodile. He comes with a blaster and Titan Master Grax who according to the packaging gives Skullsmasher the ability to mask his energy signature which makes him invisible to the Autobots. PUNCH the "Read More" break to continue...

Robot Mode

So much to hate in such a tiny figure. I had high hopes for Skullsmasher, I figured he changed his name from Skullcruncher so he could move forward in life and become a Decepticon to be reckoned with. I was very, very wrong. He is extremely light which means the crocodile head on his back makes him tip over easily. His hip joints are extremely loose which makes him even harder to stand and pose, this is apparently a common issue on this figure. His tail weapon? Shield? I honestly have no idea what is it supposed to be, but it also makes him tip. Check out the limited images below because this figure just would not cooperate.
Picture

Crocodile Mode & Drax

Picture
What Skullsmasher lacks in Robot Mode he makes up for in Crocodile Mode. He is easy to transform, the red and green color scheme looks great, and they even put detail into his mouth when you open it. There are notable issues with this mode as well though, his front feet take some manipulation to get them flat on the ground other wise they just kind of float in the air and look weird. His back has a rubber rectangle that opens up for the Titan Master (AKA Head Master) Drax to sit in but the piece does not sit well and it can fall down inside the figure. Titan Master Drax is not very detailed at all and could really have used some additional love in the creation process.
Picture

Size Difference

Compared to the Leader Class Titans Return Galvatron Skullsmasher is not much smaller and should fall right in line with the Titans Returns figures. I usually take more comparison photos but this figure was not cooperating so he only gets one.
Picture
Titans Return Skullsmasher (Left) , Titans Return Galvatron (Right) - Front View
Picture
Titans Return Skullsmasher (Left) , Titans Return Galvatron (Right) - Side View

Final Thoughts

In conclusion I have decided that Titans Return Skullsmasher & Drax should be sent DIRECTLY to the smelting pits of Cybertron and disposed of. The figure does not do the original character any justice and besides it looking great in crocodile mode it still has too many issues to lift it out of the hole. Skullsmasher is even too much of a piece of garbage for the Junkions to want to take him for scrap metal. If you do pick up Skullsmasher & Drax your best displaying option is Crocodile mode. I give Skullsmasher 1 out of 5 PUNCHES.

Titans Return Galvatron is a Voyager Class figure and comes with Titan Master Nucleon, this figure is a triple changer as well. The back of the packaging has a brief story which states "The Decepticons unite with Titan Master partners to power up for battle! Nucleon gives Galvatron a universal systems upgrade with powerful but unstable results." Below I will break down Titans Return Galvatron and see if he can hold his own against Optimus Prime. PUNCH the "Read More" break to continue!

Packaging

I personally hate talking about how something is packaged but people always want to know so here it is. Titans Return Galvatron comes packaged exactly the same way every other Voyager Class figure has come packaged for a while now. The box is the usual black & red the front displays Galvatron in Robot Mode the side has a cool piece of art work showing his head either flying away from or landing on is body, I am not really sure. The back shows his three transformation modes: Robot, Laser Cannon & a weird looking jet thing.

Galvatron Now With Triple Changing Action!

As mentioned above Galvatron is now a triple changer. I will break each form down separately in this section.

Robot Mode

Picture
Titans Return Galvatron is very detailed. The colors used are perfect and they really did a good job with his design. My only issues with him are that I feel like his arm cannon is too long and the way it attaches to the arm is annoying because it has to stay in the front. The arm joints do not twist to the side on this figure which is a bit frustrating.
Picture
Picture
Picture

Cannon Mode

Picture
This was actually pretty frustrating to transform. It wasn't hard just frustrating. The instructions AGAIN are gray and white with purple highlights showing where to move the pieces to. I am partially color blind so this is always an annoyance for me. They are asking you to move pieces of Galvatron around and at some point I swear I moved them 360 degrees. In the end Cannon Mode looks great, not exactly the design from the original movie but I can survive with what they created.
Picture

Jet Mode

I HATE THIS MODE. It ruined the entire figure for me. I thought maybe I was transforming him incorrectly so I went and studied the transformation instructions and I did not mess up. He just does not look correct. Specifically its the legs/back of the jet mode, the seem out of place no matter how you move them around.
Picture
Picture

Titan Master - Nucleon

Nucleon is Galvatrons head which raises all sorts of questions involving the brains of Cybertronians and all those great issues that develop around your head being another Transformers completely. Either way Nucleon is a two step Transformer and has basically no detail on him. This is a bit upsetting considering how good Galvatron looks. Nucleon is VERY tiny and is definitely one of those pieces that will easily be lost. The only funny thing I saw was you can take off his head and place it in his hand. (Shown Below)
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Nucleon just doesn't look good at all. I have a feeling that all of the Titan Master minicons will look this way which is upsetting. If you are good with figure detailing (which I am not) I suggest you add some paint to poor Nucleon and make him look worthy enough to be Galvatrons head. Below are some size comparison shots of Galvatron in his alt modes next to Nucleon.
Picture
Picture
Picture

Size Comparison

Galvatron stacks up on the short end of figures when compared to other products. He is shorter than Mp-10 Optimus Prime, Combiner Wars Bruticus & the Legacy Dino Megazord. I am sure if I were to compare him to other Titans Returns figures he would be a decent height.

Before I get to the final results of the review I have accessed the Teletraan 1 archives and found something interesting. These are true accounts of a long forgotten battle!
Picture
 • Galvatron: "Optimus we meet again, hand over the Matrix and I might just let you live!"

 • Optimus : "Never Galvatron! I will never let you have the power of the Matrix!"

**Blaster fire and metal clanking**

Picture
 • Galvatron : "Give up Optimus! You've lost! Now I will end you!"

 • Optimus : "You may have defeated me but my fellow Autobot's will fight you until their Sparks burn out!"

 • Galvatron : "Good-bye Optimus!"
**BLASTER NOISE**
Picture
 • Galvatron : "It's over Prime! I have won!"

FINAL RESULTS

So after sitting here thinking about this figure for a decent amount of time, I have weighed out what was great and what was not so great.

The Good:
 1. Galvatron is very detailed and his arm cannon is a clear orange plastic which looks great.
 2. Galvatrons Cannon Mode is good as well.
 3. He is going to size up well with other Titans Return figures.

The Bad:
 1. I have no idea what they were thinking with his Jet Mode its just a bad design
 2. Nucleon has basically no detail to him
 3. The trasnformation instructions can sometimes be unclear.

These are the reason I have given Titans Return Galvatron 3 out of 5 PUNCHES!

Takara Masterpiece Ratchet (MP-30) is a white version of MP-27 Ironhide except Ratchet comes with an emergency light on his roof and a few different accessories. The packaging is generic, on the front we have the Nissan logo Ratchet in robot and vehicle mode and the type of van that he is, a Nissan Cherry Vanette. On the back we get a view of the different accessories he is packaged with as well as a height comparison. If you have Mp-27 Ironhide then you will see right away that besides from the paint job and head sculpt they really aren't much different this is probably why Takara decided to produce MP-30 Ratchet so soon after MP-27 Ironhide. For further details on this figure PUNCH the "Read More" option below!

What's in the box?

MP-30 Ratchet comes packaged in vehicle mode and with the battle sled exactly the same way MP-27 Ironhide did. Ratchet also comes with a decent amount of weaponry, with some of his weapons being unique tools which we thought were a clever edition to the Cybertronian Medic. To the right you can see MP-30 Ratchet & MP-27 Ironhide in their packaging. The major difference between the 2 figures and something that seems to have started with MP-29 Shockwave is that Ratchet comes with stickers. They provide 2 different types of stickers, ones with the Autobot logo and ones that are just medic crosses. We chose to use the Autobot cross logo on our Ratchet because we feel it gives him a more finished look.

MP-30 Ratchet Vehicle Mode

Once you get the stickers placed on him Ratchet looks great. He is show accurate and there is really nothing too crazy about his design. You can mount one of his blasters to his roof and they store underneath him just like the feature from MP-27 Ironhide. Additionally he looks exactly like Ironhide in vehicle mode except he is white instead of red.
Picture

Transforming and Posing

Transforming MP-30 Ratchet is extremely simple. We did not encounter any difficulty transforming him from vehicle mode to robot mode. Once transformed there are a variety of options for him. He has so many different weapons, that he can use or that can be attached to the battle sled the same way they did with MP-27 Ironhide. Ratchet also comes with an additional face piece which we were not too happy with because it looks like he is giving a creepy smile (Photos on the right). Posing Ratchet is alot of fun and his design makes him sturdy enough to get some cool poses, check them out below!
Picture
MP-30 Ratchet : Battle Sled

Size Comparison

MP-30 Ratchet is sized perfectly to the other Takara Masterpiece figures and he is height accurate based on the original series. Check out the comparison shots provided below!

FINAL RESULTS

There really isn't anything negative about MP-30 Ratchet, but there really isn't anything amazing about him either. He is a repaint of MP-27 Ironhide which isn't really Takaras' fault since that's how he was originally designed for the show. They did give him unique tools which is a plus because without them he would not be anything more than an albino Ironhide. He can be posed easily and is scaled to the correct height when compared to the other figures. These are the reasons we are giving MP-30 Ratchet....**DRUM ROLL**.... 4 PUNCHES!

]]><![CDATA[Combiner Wars Sky Reign : Review]]>Wed, 20 Apr 2016 22:08:25 GMThttp://www.power-punch.net/transformers-figure-review/combiner-wars-sky-reign-review
Picture
So I was finally able to get my hands on the 5th member of this Combiners Wars set, Sky Lynx. I was really looking forward to this set of figures mostly because we rarely get a decent Sky Lynx figure from Hasbro. I went into this set of figures very optimistic I could not wait to get it set up and see how they all looked but I was very surprised with what I found..... Click READ MORE to continue.
Picture
To form Sky Reign you need the following figures. Wheeljack (Left Arm), Hound (Right Arm), Sky Lynx (Torso), Smokescreen (Left Leg), & Trailbreaker (Right Leg). Below we will break down each figure individually.

Wheeljack

Picture
Transformation from robot to car is simple with some issues being when you have to clip the back of the car to the front but nothing terrible. Transforming him into the Arm is simple as well. Wheeljack is a new mold which is also cool. Nothing realy special though, no "Wow" factor.. he is an inventor he creates new technology all the time for the Autobots but Hasbro decided to only give him that generic gun/sword we have seen multiple times. They could have easily giving him a better weapon. Also in car mode the only place to put the weapon is on the roof which just looks strange.

HOUND

Picture
Hound looks decent, I really like his gun design. BUT Hound is just a repaint of Swindle from the Bruticus set. Transforming from Robot to Car to Hand is not bad. I had some trouble with the directions for him. The pictures really aren't very clear as to where you should be moving his roll bars and hood piece to, plus the red coloring on the grey paper was a strain on the eyes. I know they always do this coloring BUT the parts that they wanted moved were so tiny that you had to really stare at the page to figure it out. His weapon plugs right into the top of his roof and looks like it should be there so that is a positive. I feel like he needed another color I know he is a military Jeep but he just looks like he needed something more.

Sky Lynx

Okay so I am probably going to take a beating here but keep in mind these reviews are my honest opinion. I never hate on a figure so I can get attention. So here it goes... I HATE SKY LYNX! Yup I said it. This figure is frustrating to transform and doesn't even look that good. I know these aren't Takara MP figures and I am aware that I am basically reviewing a kids toy from Hasbro but Sky Lynx just let me down so hard. His instructions are not clear changing him from whatever he is to shuttle mode (he is a space shuttle right?) is a big pain and the instructions to transform him into torso mode are just confusing. Just like with Hound we had trouble telling what we were moving or what way the pieces needed to be moved to be in the correct spot. Below I provided a picture of Step 2 to Step 3.
Picture
So in Step 2 they want us to pull his neck and head up and forward easy enough. In Step 3 they want the tail fin pulled back cool no problem but WHAT THE HELL IS BEING MOVED IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS BODY?!?! It turns out to be the rest of the top of the shuttle and it needs to flip completely forward. It doesn't like to move in that direction though so you need to force it. Basically if they never made another Sky Lynx figure ever again I would be okay with it. I feel like they only made him part of a bigger combiner so they would be able to sell him because on his own I would have skipped this figure completely. Check out his 2 forms below.

Smokescreen

Picture
Smokescreen is another repainted mold with a different head. Transforming him from Robot to Car to Foot is simple and there were no big issues with moving his parts. There is nothing fancy about him he is a basic figure. His weapon, like Wheeljack, does not have a place to go so you have to place it on his roof which makes him look goofy. Pictures below...

Trailbreaker

Picture
So Trailbreaker was actually in competition with Sky Lynx to be the most hated figure in this set. Transforming him from Robot to Car/Truck/Whatever he is mode was a pain. His instructions again UNCLEAR the images do not tell you exactly what to do, his arms don't lock into his sides and I found myself forcing pieces into place. At one point I had to stop and walk away from it because it was so frustrating. This figure alone took about 25 mins to transform. I believe Trailbreaker is a new mold for this set and he has that blaster hand which we have seen a few times before. Going to his foot mode is frustrating as well but easier than putting him into vehicle mode. Oh and his ax weapon, yea that has NO spot to be placed. There is one hole in the back of him but the weapon doesn't fit in that spot and on the side it just looks dumb.

SKY REIGN

Lets put them all together. Sky Reign, where do I start? His head is too small for his body and his arms are too long. His mouth doesn't move so it is stuck in the open position like he just saw something he shouldn't have seen. He doesn't have any big guns or weapons to hold in his hands like the previous combiners do. From the side there is a gaping hole from lack of parts to go there and from behind his back is just open. He has a tail, which is Sky Lynx head and it seems like they could have had that piece fold up into his back but they decided a tail would be better. He also can not be posed at all with out falling down. Over all I am not impressed with Sky Reign and that is sad because I really wanted this figure to be good.

Picture
Picture

Comics Included

Picture
Wheeljack, Smokescreen, Trailbreaker & Hound all come with a Transformer comic from IDW each telling a unique story. This is probably the only part of this set that is worth any time. I definitely recommend you at least take a look at those.

Comparison Shots

I didn't take too many comparison shots mostly because I was so frustrated with this entire set of figures and I didn't feel like it was even worth it. Sky Reign is around the same height has the other combiners coming in a bit shorter than Bruticus and slightly taller than the Legacy Dino Megazord.

PUNCH TIME!

It should be clear from reading above that I am not happy with Sky Reign and friends at all. I have never wanted to throw a figure set at the wall more in my entire life than I wanted to with Sky Reign. Hes clunky, has a strange color scheme, looks like they put very little effort into him and any potential he did have was removed. His arms are very boxy making him hard to pose. Seriously Hound is actually a box on wheels why would you make him an arm?!?! These reasons plus my increased blood pressure from transforming and combining these 5 figures is why Sky Reign only gets 1 and a half PUNCHES.
Picture
Basically if Sky Reign was captured and slowly dipped into the Smelting Pools of Cybertron an inch at a time I would be okay with that. I might even buy popcorn to watch his demise.

Takara Masterpiece Shockwave (MP-29) is the latest edition to the Masterpiece line from Takara and finally gives us another Decepticon that is not a jet! Shockwave or as his box is labeled "Destron Laserwave" comes packaged like all of the other Masterpiece Figures before him, typical black box with the image of the figure on the front and on the back it shows both robot and blaster modes as well as different poses and height comparisons to other MP Figures. MP-29 Shockwave is also priced right in line with other Masterpiece Figures with a price point of $159.99 from www.bigbadtoystore.com.

Click below to read more!

What's in the box?

MP-29 Shockwave does not come with as many accessories as MP-27 Ironhide did but he does have a few pieces with him. He comes with an extra set of hands in solid color and in a clear purple color for his light up arm. Also included are a set of Decepticon Logo stickers, yup that's right we said the S word, STICKERS, but don't panic they aren't that bad to get onto him. He is in the box in blaster mode and also comes with a smaller version of his blaster mode as a weapon.

BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED?!?

Straight out of the box Shockwave looks great! His blaster mode fits well in hand and it has just enough weight to it. If you plan to cos-play as a Decepticon anytime soon we suggest you have a Shockwave on your hip in blaster mode. Shockwave even has a light-up feature except batteries are NOT included, you might be thinking "Not included that's not so bad I'll run out and get some." That sounds like a great idea until you realize he not only needs 2 AAA batteries (common all over) but he also requires 2 LR44 button batteries which are nearly impossible to find and have actually been replaced by A76 batteries which are also hard to find. We went to about 7 different stores in search of these batteries apparently nobody stocks them in bulk. We found 1 at a big retail store and another at a pharmacy chain. In the end it will cost you around an additional $15.00 to power up Shockwave's lights. Considering the price of the figure and that it is a Takara MP you would assume batteries should have been included. If you plan on displaying Shockwave in blaster mode it does come with an attachment to help it stand up, this stand later becomes a pack for his back in robot mode.
Picture

Is the Transformation process complicated?

Transforming Shockwave is not hard at all and takes about 15-20 minutes if you are good at following pictures and might be faster if you know how to read Japanese. The pieces slide effortlessly and do not require any forcing. Half way through the process you end up with the strange looking Shockwave shown on the right. We have dubbed this his Deceptidong form. We are sure Soundwave no longer thinks he is superior.....

One eye to save them all....
A nice added feature of MP-29 Shockwave is the return of the light filter which allows light to enter the back of his head and light up his 1 eye! This feature has not appeared on any of the previous MP figures and it was a nice added touch we hope to see it show up on more MP's in the future!

Posture, Posing & Punching!

Shockwave has no trouble standing on his own and our only complaint is that he has click joints which can sometimes make it difficult to maneuver his arms at the shoulder and you almost feel like you are going to snap his limbs off. Aside from that he can be posed in a punch of different ways and looks good doing it.

Lets Compare!

Below you will find a variety of height comparisons we did for Shockwave. Some of them are compared to other MP figures and some to other high end figures as well.
As you can see Shockwave is scaled perfectly with the other MP figures and will definitely make a great addition to your collection.

JUDGEMENT TIME! **DRUM ROLL**

All things considered Takara MP-29 Shockwave is a great figure, he is height accurate, has added light features and a glowing eye, he poses well and fits well with the other MP figures. BUT the battery issue really got to us. That is why MP-29 Shockwave is only getting 4 out of 5 PUNCHES. If we didn't have to go on a hunt for the batteries Shockwave most likely would have gotten 5 out of 5. I expect alot from my MP figures, not including at least the button batteries really got under my skin. If anybody knows a reason they might have chosen to do this please PUNCH us a comment!
