PACKAGING

Hasbro is still using the same packaging for the Transformers : Titans Return line that consists of the front of the packaging using a clear plastic window to show the figure in Robot Mode and the pack of the packaging giving a brief synopsis of the figure and the Titan Master that is included as well as a list of other figures available in this wave.

Once removed from the outer packaging Titans Return Alpha Trion is secured in his plastic with an excessive amount of plastic straps. I know I complain about this on all of my reviews of the Transformers line from Hasbro but it really annoys me because I always end up missing 1 or 2 of the straps. In case you were wondering, Alpha Trion is held in by 11 plastic straps.

ROBOT MODE

I am going to admit that when I first picked up Alpha Trion I was a bit concerned by the colors that Hasbro had chosen for him, however after taking him out of the packaging I really started to like them. The colors work very well together and are broken up by the silver on the lions head. Alpha Trion is easy to pose and I really like that they chose to make his sword a clear colored plastic.

The details in this figure are done very well but can always use some improvement if you are good with detailing. I like the head sculpt as well as the details used on his chest, these added features really bring the figure together.

BEAST MODE

Alpha Trion has a lion design when transformed, and getting him into this mode is simple. My only issue is that posing him becomes extremely limited and can be frustrating, aside from that he looks great.

FLIGHT MODE

Changing Alpha Trion from Robot Mode to Flight Mode is really easy, requires a few steps and looks great when completed. Again the colors do not look bad and Hasbro has found 2 spots to place Titan Master Sovereign when in this mode.

TITAN MASTER : SOVEREIGN

I have the same complaint about this Titan Master that I have had with all of the others, NO DETAIL. It really is annoying to have such a great figure but then Hasbro basically gives up when painting the Titan Master's, just a few added details would really make it perfect. The least they could do is figure out a way to hide the screw that is in the center of all of their torsos.

Titan Master Lacking Details

Titans Return : Alpha Trion & Sovereign will make a great addition to any collection, the figure is sturdy, the design is great and there are details in Alpha Trion that make him looks amazing when displayed. The lack of detail in the Titan Master is just something we will have to deal with because the odds of Hasbro making a change to them this late in the run is minimal.
