Today Boom! Studios and Saban Brands announced an all-new ongoing coming comic series called Saban's Go Go Power Rangers that will debut in July 2017. This new series is based on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers T.V. series and will explore the "transition of the original five Power Rangers from ordinary high school students to world saving super heroes." Ryan Parrott (Star Trek: Starfleet Academy & Saban's Power Rangers : Aftershock) will be returning to Boom! Studios and teaming up with Russ Manning Award-winning artist Dan Mora (WWE, Klaus).
Saban's Go Go Power Rangers will take place right after the first episode of the original T.V. series and centers around Jason, Kimberly, Zack, Trini, and Billy as they navigate high school, just days after receiving their superhero abilities. The story delves into their lives of saving the world while juggling history tests, dating and after-school jobs.
"It's hard enough being a teenager and juggling relationships, school, and family—I can't even imagine throwing in protecting the world." - Ryan Parrott
"“The goal of Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers is to focus on more personal, intimate character stories. We dive deeper to fully examine the wish-fulfilling, awesomeness of having superpowers, along with the pressure of that responsibility.” - Ryan Parrott
Saban's Go Go Power Rangers will be the second on-going comic series to launch and has some big shoes to fill with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series that was released in 2016 selling over 1 million copies in its first year!
