The Legacy Ninja Megazord was set to release in early November but Toys R Us has been selling it in stores and online since early October. This figure is priced at $99.99 and brings us the Legacy Ninja Ape, Wolf, Crane, Frog and Bear Zords to go along with the previously released Legacy Falconzord, for more information continue reading or PUNCH the read more break below depending on how you got here.
Packaging
The Legacy Ninja Megazord packaging is similar in style to the Legacy Falcon Zord which is also pretty much identical to the original zord release packaging from the original movie. The box shows the Zords combined on the front and broken down on the back. The sides give a brief story of the Zord set and inside the box all of the Zords are packaged individually and wrapped in plastic.
The Zords
The Zords are very detailed with some extra articulation that was not present in the original figures, but they do lack the metal die-cast parts that we saw in the earlier Legacy Line Zord releases such as the Legacy Dino Megazord. This seems like an odd thing to pull away from considering it was a main selling point for the line when it started releasing. However even without the metal parts these Zords do still have some weight to them. The weapons for the Ape Zord can still be attached to his back and can still be combined into the blade staff, they separated the Ape Zords legs but I feel like they missed an opportunity to give him a joint in his knees the figure stands very rigid and it can make it hard to pose. The Bear Zord can still carry the hand covers for the Wolf & Ape Zords and they added a joint to the mouth of the Frog Zord that allows it to open now. The Crane Zord is small as expected but you will see in the photos that they decided to use a bar joint for the head/neck and it left a weird indent in the Zord right below the eyes. This does not necessarily ruin the figure but it does stand out when you look at it.

Combining the Ninja Zords into Megazord Mode is simple and Bandai really has the combination instructions down to a science, they do not overload you with too many confusing images and directions that are hard to follow. I wish Hasbro would learn from them for their Transformers line! Once combined the Legacy Ninja Megazord really does look great, the details are just enough and the only real Issues I had were that the Ape Zord kept wanting to slide out of his locked position in his legs with the slightest move. This actually gives him an elbow joint similar to the Transformers Combiner Wars figures and would have been cool if they did something similar to the Wolf Zord and given us a few more articulation points otherwise its just annoying. The other issue I had was that one of the joints on the Bear Zord were a bit loose so when I would attach the Falcon Zord it would slip out, the clips that hold the Falcon Zord really are not the best. I was able to fix my Bear Zord issue by taking a screw driver to the exposed screws loosening them a bit and then tightening them back up.
Size Comparison
When standing next to the original Ninja Megazord the Legacy Ninja Megazord comes up a bit shorter. Individually compared piece by piece you can really see the size changes that Bandai made to the Legacy Zord set. When compared to other Legacy Line Megazords it does stand around the same height. So what is really different? The Legacy Crane Zord has lost the pink coloring that the original had and it was replaced with a red, the original gray pieces on the Zords have now been replaced but a metallic looking silver color and the Ape & Wolf Zords now have a shiny silver and gold metallic paint on the shoulder areas to give it a more finished look.
Zord Builder Collection
Though it has limited parts for this, the Legacy Ninja Megazord is still part of the Zord Builder Collection from Bandai. You can easily pop the arms off of the Legacy Ninja Megazord and switch them with arms from other Megazords. You can create the Dino Ninja Megazord or the Ninja Dino Megazord or even the Ninja Samurai Megazord if you wanted.
Final Thoughts
The reasons listed above is why I am giving the Legacy Ninja Megazord 4 OUT OF 5 PUNCHES! I say if you see this Legacy Figure on the shelf grab it before it is gone!
