The Power Rangers Ninja Steel : DX Ninja Battle Morpher is showing up in stores right before the holidays and will certainly be a hot sell with Ninja Steel starting in 2017. This item is priced at $29.99 and comes with 2 Ninja Stars, one for the Red Rangers and the other for the Yellow Ranger. Want to learn more about the Ninja Battle Morpher? The Ninja Steel Battle Morpher comes in an open style packaging with a test/trial mode activated so you can see what it does while on the shelf. The package is held together with some take and the Morpher is kept in place with zip ties inside the box. The back of the box explains some of the features and at the bottom they tell us to "Collect Ninja Stars to unlock additional sounds!" also noted on the box is that you can collect "50+ Ninja Stars", if you are planning on getting all of the Ninja Steel Ninja Stars then you can most likely expect a Ranger Key or Dino Charger style hunt in your future as you run from store to store trying to obtain every one.
The Ninja Steel Battle Morpher requires a bit of assembly, the back handle needs to be forced into place and there is also a small black peg clip that is attached in a small plastic bag that you need to use to keep the handle in place. The handle seems to stay attached to the Morpher on its own but this extra peg does give is extra stability so DO NOT LOSE IT. The Morpher design is actually fairly accurate with the screen used product and has a blade that can be sent out with the push of a button. The Ninja Stars attach directly to the center and make sounds when attached, there is also a button on the handle you can press to make noise as well. (See the "Sounds" section of the review.)
The Ninja Steel Ninja Stars have a picture of the Ranger the Ninja Star is from on the front and specific grooves on the back that help the Morpher determine which phrase to say. The edges of the Ninja Stars are foam which is a bit disappointing in my opinion because they do look cool but are cheapened by the foam edges.
The Battle Morpher makes a variety of different sounds and says a few phrases, it can tell which Ninja Star is attached to it and says a different phrase based on the grooves in the back the Ninja Star. Below are a few videos showing off the different sounds the Morpher makes.
The Power Rangers Ninja Steel Battle Morpher is really not a bad product. If you are into collecting all of the T.V. series weapons and morphers then I suggest you pick one up, just be prepaired to hunt down all of those 50+ Ninja Stars they are advertising and expect Bandai to trickle them out over the course of a year or more.
