Power Ranges In Space Figures. PACKAGING
The packaging that Bandai is using for the Legacy Ranger Collection is probably some of the best packaging I have seen in a long time for a figure product at this price point. The front of the package is mostly clear plastic allowing you to see the Ranger inside as well as some of the accessories, the color of the Ranger is written vertically on the side of the plastic and for some reason on the bottom of the packaging Bandai had the words "Limited Edition" added to the box. As far as I can tell there really is not anything "Limited" about them nothing changed in the design and no added accessories so I am not too sure if they just added this wording to make people think they are not producing too many or if there is actually something "Limited" to this series that I am not seeing. If you know the reason for this please let me know so I can sleep at night! The back of the package shows he Series 2 Rangers as well as the completed Astro Megazord. The figures themselves are held in by the plastic shell casing and 1 plastic tie, yup only 1 and its on the wrist, it probably does not even need to be there but it is. I wish Hasbro would take a hint from Bandai in this area because those Transformers figures have usually 9 plastic ties in addition to the plastic shell around them but that is just me being picky.
RED & YELLOW IN SPACE RANGERS
All figures in the Legacy Ranger Collection have 20 point of articulation putting them in direct competition with S.H. Figuarts the major difference between the two besides price point is that S.H. Figuarts tends to hide joins and screws a bit better. The Red & Yellow Ranger but come with a blast holster as well as a blaster, the Red Ranger also comes with the torso and head of the Astro Megazord & the Yellow Ranger comes with the left leg.
These figures are easy to pose and look nearly exact to their one screen images. The major difference being that the clear dome of the helmets that would light up on the show are just black plastic here, this is not really a major design flaw but it would have been nice if they included that. Also missing are the ranger weapons which Bandai has decided to leave out of all of the Legacy Ranger line, a bit upsetting but also not a deal breaker. ASTRO MEGAZORD : TORSO & LEFT LEG
As I stated before the Legacy Red & Yellow In Space Ranger come with the Astro Megazord torso & left leg respectfully. The pieces we have are very well detailed and connect to eachother with a simple ball joint that requires a big of force to click together but nothign too bad. I also discovered that when placed together the Astro Megazord can stand on one leg which is not a useful piece of information but still something to know.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall the In Space Legendary Rangers are a great purchase, the priceis low and they are well detailed, the missing details could easily be added if you are good with figure detailing which I am not. The Blasters are colored accuratly which is rare and the Megazord is coming together nicely.
