The Power Ranger Ninja Steel Ninja Star packs have started to hit retailers right before the 2016 holiday season and you can pick up the 1st wave of 6 packs containing Legendary Rangers, Legendary Teams of Rangers, Ninja Steel Rangers, Power Up Stars & Zord Stars. PUNCH the "READ MORE" break to continue! PACKAGINGThe Ninja Steel Ninja Star packs come containing 2 Stars and a launcher or 3 Stars. Both packs will cost around $7.99 Each + Tax. The packaging is simple, the front displays the 3 stars the back displays more toys coming out for Power Ranger Ninja Steel and shows you that you can throw the foam stars, launch them with the launcher or attach them to the Morpher to unlock additional sounds. NINJA STARSI expected the Ninja Steel Ninja Stars to be a bit more impressive, the edges are foam most likely because they tell you to throw them and launch them but when comparing them to previous Legendary Ranger items like the Ranger Keys & the Dino Chargers these Ninja Stars just can't hold up. The Ninja Star Launcher is an interesting accessory I doubt it has any actual relevance to the show and I have not been able to find any evidence to convince me otherwise. You can attach them together and launch 2 stars at a time and that is about the extent of that items function.
When thinking about the other Legendary Ranger items they did have a specific function what placed in the respective Morpher. The Ranger keys fro example would have the Morpher shout out the Legendary Ranger team is represented, however these Ninja Stars do not do anything too exciting. When placed into the Ninja Steel Battle Morpher the single Legendary Ranger Star will only say "Red Legendary Ninja Star" and the team ones will only say "Legendary Team Ninja Star" no matter which team is placed it always says the same thing. This is extremely disappointing since I had my expectations higher based on previous Legendary products. Additionally it can also be a bit hard to pull the stars out of the Morpher and since they are foam you run the risk of creasing or cracking the star edges. The Ninja Steel Ranger Ninja Stars do say which Ranger is being used and there are elemental stars as well, the one that comes in the pack is for water. After those stars you get two Zord stars which say which Zord they are for as well as causing the Battle Morpher to should "Summon" when the button on the back is pressed. FINAL THOUGHTS
If you like to collect all of the Legendary Ranger merchandise Bandai & Saban have gotten us used to over the last few seasons then I suggest picking up all of the Ninja Stars, but if you are looking for a great product to display with your collection this is probably not the one for it. The foam will eventually dry out and crack even if you try your best to keep them perfect out of the packaging, displaying them could be tricky because if you stand them on their edges you run the risk of creasing the foam. Bandai has dealt with Legendary Ranger products for years and should have been a bit more aware that given the Battle Morpher a few more phrases would have increased the positive reviews of this product. The Power Rangers Ninja Steel Ninja Stars receive 2 OUT OF 5 PUNCHES. POWER-PUNCH PICKS!
